Traits I Value

Adaptability

I am adept at adjusting to new environments and situations. For my first semester of college, I studied abroad in Scotland. Away from home for the first time and living in a different country, I learned to accustom myself to a foreign culture and network of people. By the end of the semester, Scotland was my new home. However, I then came to Chapel Hill for my first semester on campus. This period also required adjustment to a new social setting and increased academic rigor.  I also adjusted to a newfound passion for different cultures that lead to changing my major and shifting my career goals. In any work setting, I am confident in my ability to adjust to a new environment with new demands.

Care

In my relationships, I consistently show people in different ways how much I care about them. Throughout my life, my grandparents were my close friends and caretakers. I always look up to them for their selflessness and empathy. As they got older, the roles reversed, and I had the opportunity to show my love for them. This included many visits to different facilities for different tasks or simple companionship. As part of this process, I moved home during my first semester back at UNC to help care for them. After they passed, I redirected my energy towards caring for my community. I decided to join Alpha Phi Omega, a UNC service-based fraternity, which allowed me to make an impact on campus and the greater area. I care about helping other people and paying it forward when I am fortunate enough to have been gifted the opportunities and abilities that others may not.

Exploration

As part of my study abroad experience, I traveled to 8 different countries and throughout Scotland on 13 different trips. I planned, organized, and encouraged everyone who was studying abroad with me to travel as well. My exploration has always been selfless with a goal of sharing experiences with many different people. This includes my passions for both football (soccer, but really it’s football) and concerts. In addition to physically exploring different cultures and places, I also explored my career path as I continued my college experience. I was originally a business major but changed to Advertisement and Public Relations after incorporating my passion for exploring different cultures into my skillset.

In My Free Time

This picture was taken when I was playing high school soccer. I have been playing since I was three years old and continue to play in a local adult league today.

This picture was taken when I went backpacking with a friend in Switzerland at 18. I love to travel and get out of my comfort zone when possible.

This is a picture of my friends in my pledge class when I joined Alpha Phi Omega, the service fraternity on campus. I enjoy doing service based activities with friends that share the same passion for philanthropy.

My brother, my dad, and I attended a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert in 2024. I enjoy going to music events when tickets aren't outrageously priced.
